Whole-Site SSL

We recently launched a new feature called Whole-Site SSL, which allows us to use SSL on every page of your website.

Before going any further, it’s important to first point out that every insurance website we have ever built and hosted has used SSL on the pages that collect sensitive information, starting with our first one in 2007. If your website is hosted with us, your forms are protected with SSL.

You may be wondering:

If my form pages already use SSL, why would I care about this?

Whole-Site SSL goes beyond just protecting your form pages. There’s more on our Whole-Site SSL page, and here are some additional benefits it provides to your insurance agency and your customers and prospects:

  1. Increased user trust.
When people see https:// in the browser’s address bar, or when they see the browser’s “lock” icon, they’re more likely to trust your website.

  2. Google search rankings. Google wants to make the web more secure, so they’re incentivizing website owners with a slight boost in search rankings for websites that use “HTTPS everywhere.”

  3. Branding and consistency. The insurance websites we host without Whole-Site SSL use our wildcard SSL certificate for secure pages. For example, secure pages on the www.agency.com website are at https://agency.agentform.com. After upgrading to Whole-Site SSL, every page on this website will be at https://www.agency.com.

  4. Increased user privacy. This benefit is often overlooked and undervalued, but it’s an important one nonetheless. Since non-SSL connections are not encrypted, it’s possible for someone to listen in on your web traffic and watch what you’re doing online. Even if you don’t care about being watched, your website visitors might.

We worked hard on automating as much of the setup process as possible, and we’re very pleased with how it turned out. As a result, we’re able to offer Whole-Site SSL for just $9/mo, and setup is free, though the first year is due up front and is non-refundable.
