Chargebacks & Refunds

If you believe your credit card has been charged in error, please let us know before issuing a chargeback with your bank/credit card company by emailing us at billing@banyantheory.com.

Chargebacks issued due to a misunderstanding / miscommunication between cardholders about valid & legitimate charges can result in unintended website downtime. Chargebacks are expensive for businesses to deal with - both financially and operationally, so we are always happy to provide clarity regarding the charge & issue a quick refund instead of handling a chargeback. If it's truly an error, we will refund your money immediately.

Credit Card Statement Information

Banyan Theory only uses Stripe to process credit card payments.


Statement Charge Details

Each bank and credit card company has different information that is included for each charge on a statement. Vendors don't always have 100% control of what or how the information is displayed.

Banyan Theory owns and manages two website platforms - LightRail and Webtricity. Sometimes credit card companies will import and display information from the parent company, so Webtricity customers may sometimes see Banyan Theory on their statements as well.

The info below is intended to help you determine that the charge you have from Banyan Theory or Webtricity is legitimate.

Stored Cards & Payment Receipts

Banyan Theory will charge the card stored in your LightRail account on the invoice due date, if payment has not been received another way (ACH or mailed check).

When a credit card payment is made, a payment receipt will be emailed to the billing contact on your account.

If a guest credit card payment is made (the user was not logged in), then the billing contact will still receive a payment receipt.


Managing Your Billing Information

To view and update the billing information on your account:

  1. Log in to your LightRail account at https://my.lightrailsites.com/billing
  2. Click on your name in the top right of the screen
  3. Click on the Billing menu item

You can update your card on file, download current and past invoices, and view all payment receipts.


Downgrading or Cancelling

To find out how you can reduce your recurring website expense, contact your account manager or email service [at] banyantheory [dot] com.

If you wish to cancel your Banyan Theory account entirely, please email your account manager or service [at] banyantheory [dot] com. Cancellation requests must be sent by an authorized representative of your company.
