Safeco Bricks & Clicks Workshops - Highly Recommended!

Nick and I finally got a chance to attend a Safeco Bricks & Clicks workshop in Richardson, TX last week where we were treated to 2 great sessions on social media for insurance agents and how to evaluate your insurance agency website (which we have just a little bit of experience in already...).

Safeco Insurance

Mick Thorton and Mark Benke did an excellent job presenting the materials in a way that was easily digestable by even the least tech-savvy.  These 2 guys not only know websites, analytics, and search engine optimization, they really know how to teach it too!

The 2 day-long classes were filled with relevant topics and tips to make the most out of your website and social media efforts (but not in a jam-packed, make-your-brain-hurt kind of way).

Everyone left the class with not only a better understanding of what's involved with an insurance agency website and social media marketing, but a clear action plan on how to improve their efforts.

I can't recommend this class highly enough.  If you're a Safeco agent and haven't been to one of these workshops, don't miss out! It's only $49 for each class,  and there's a few more left this year across the country. See below for a current schedule, as of 5/22, or learn more and register at safeconow.com.

  • Golden, CO - 6/21 & 6/22
  • Rocky Hill, CT - 7/18 & 7/19
  • Richmond, VA - 8/2 & 8/3
  • Indianapolis, IN - 8/16 & 8/17
  • Seattle, WA - 9/13 & 9/14
We also got to meet a few of our existing customers face-to-face who were at the workshop as well, which was a rare treat!

To add to all the excitement, we also held a drawing for a free mobile website (congrats to the winner - Bankhead Insurance in Dallas, TX), and offered an additional $100 off a new Banyan Theory website or mobile site to all attendess.

What else did we do in Richardson other than learn about websites?  Ate some excellent food.  If you're in the area, be sure to check out Freebirds World Burrito (which beats Chipotle, no contest) and Frankie's Mexican Cuisine (and be sure to try the Mexican Lasagna).

We had such a blast (8 hour drive aside), that we're considering making the drive out to Golden, CO next month.  Hope to see you there!

Totally agree, Allison! I attended that class a couple of years ago in Atlanta, and it gave me a great foundation for how to market to prospective insurance customers in the digital world. Everyone in our agency got a fresh email signature with lots of links after I got back to the office.
